Location: Gainesville, FL GO GATORS!
How we met: We met at :08, a country line dancing bar in Downtown Gainesville. At that time I (Kelly) was pursuing my Masters in Education and Bobby had just graduated from Jacksonville State University and was looking for a job. I was a regular there every Thursday night, just to cut a rug! Bobby was there with a guy I knew, before long we struck up a conversation. And as they say, the rest is history...
Our Wedding: It all began on May 4, 2007... Bobby came in to my classroom about 15 minutes before dismissal on Friday afternoon with a red rose. His Dad was with him with his camera. I really had no idea what was going on. So I went over to greet him and he said to the class, "Hi boys and girls, I'm Mr. Bobby and I love Miss P." and that's when I figured out what was happening and so I said, " and I love him..." and then he proceeded to get down on one knee and said, "...and I want you to be my wife, will you marry me?" I was crying then the kids shouted "MISS P.'S MARRIED!!!"
We got married on April 5, 2008 at the Gainesville Garden Club under a great big oak tree. We had Sonny's B-B-Q a little line-dancing and WHOLE LOTTA FUN!
Careers and Education: Kelly teaches first grade at Stephen Foster Elementary School. She graduated from the University of Florida with her Masters Degree in Elementary Education in May 2005. Bobby attended Jacksonville State University in Alabama where he lettered 3 years for the Gamecocks baseball team, and graduated with a degree in Business Management. He then went to work at Gleim Publications in Gainesville, where he heads up the International Sales Department.
Pets: When Bobby and I first moved in together we decided that we wanted to get a cat. So we headed to the pet store one weekend to see the kittens that were up for adoption. We immediately spotted a little buff and white colored kitten that we loved but we thought we shouldn't make the decision so quickly so we went home and talked about it and decided that we would go back the next day and if he was still there it was meant to be and we would get him. So we headed back to the store and sure enough our little cutie was there! While talking to the adoption lady she told us that it is so great when kittens have a playmate and that if we wanted to take another kitten, they would waive the fee... So Bobby picked out the only little girl in the litter and we ended up taking home a little brother and sister!
In the car ride home we were trying to decide on names. I'm a big fan of the children's book author Lauren Child and had recently discovered that some of my favorite characters of hers, Charlie and Lola, actually had their own show on the Disney Channel! Those characters are just the cutest and so we decided to use those names for our new little kitties!
Fantasy Buy: A House in Nashville! We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it there! Season Tickets to the Gator Games!
Interests and Hobbies: Kelly enjoys shopping, crafting, tailgating and spending time with family and friends. Bobby enjoys watching sports of any kind, keeping up with his fantasy teams online, spending time at the field where he coaches youth pitchers, and watching movies at home.
