Another UF Alum!

Well... I've been called out for slacking on the blog! I know, I know! The good news is there are only 10 days left of school and Summer is just around the corner. So hopefully, that will bring more blogging!

So anyway, a couple weeks ago my cousin J.T. graduated from Florida! How exciting to reach such a big goal in your life! We are so proud of you T! And we're excited for what's to come as you enter (dun, dun, dun...) the real world!
Here are some pictures from J.T.'s Graduation weekend!

Friday afternoon we surprised J.T. by painting the 34th Street Wall!

The Reading Tree

A long, long time ago I pinned this awesome book shelf that I wanted for our baby's room... I knew it would be perfect for our Whimsical Forest theme.

About 3 years ago my aWeSoMe Uncle Larry (and his team of workers) came and built this b.e.a.u.tiful deck for Bobby and I in our backyard! So, I thought, instead of buying the bookshelf from the website, I would ask my favorite wood worker if he could build one like it.

Well he did it! I know it took a lot of time and planning and working and help from that team. We are so thankful for all of it! Because now Greer has the cOoLeSt bookshelf in town!!! Here are some pics of how it turned out...
After the tree was in, I added a few little touches to really bring it "to life."

Some leaves and what I consider Magnolia Blooms!

My friend Heidi painted 2 cutie little bird houses for Greer's room. We decided that we should hang one of them from the tree!

When the bookshelf was just about done, Uncle Larry had a great idea to make it even more fun and whimsical for Little Miss Greer! Isn't that door just so magical!?!?!

You might've noticed, next to the bookshelf pin was another pin about making a pom pom bouquet for my little girl's room... Well here it is. The pom poms are from my family baby shower!

Wow! Thank You Uncle Larry!!! We love you!!!

(New) Normal

Hello!
It's the first non-holiday weekend of the year and I'm starting to feel like we are getting back to normal. Well a new normal. Bobby is golfing = Normal, Baby Greer is sleeping = New Normal. It's funny to think that now there are 3 people that live in our home!
So now that I have a little time to myself, I thought I'd try to *quickly* catch up on the blog!
The last event I blogged about was Thanksgiving and our upcoming C-section. So I guess that's where I'll start!
We spent the last few days after Thanksgiving getting ready for our trip to the hospital. Then Tuesday morning, 11-29-11, came and we were all buzzing with excitement. Our bags were packed and we were on our way!

Me, Bobby and my Mom got to the hospital to check in at 8. Shortly after, Bobby's parents and my Aunt Shari and cousin Katy Jo came to the hospital too. Once we got to our room, the nurse started prepping us for surgery, everything seemed fine until they went to put in my IV. That's when the tears started... it hurt so badly, I just couldn't hold it in. Unfortunately, the tears did not stop until much, much later. In fact, I think I cried for about 3 or 4 hours straight. Oh dear. : /
Anyhoo, maybe we can speed through the next few parts since it's all pretty much just me blubbering... blubbering... blubbering...
...and then at 10:47 am, our little girl was here!!!
(Still crying but a different kind of tears now)
After all of the procedures in the nursery, Greer and our whole family were back in our room and everything started getting back to normal again... well a new normal, that is!

What a journey the last 10 months has been...
...and what a journey we are beginning now!

Welcome Greer Paisley!

Give Thanks

Hello!
Did you have a nice Thanksgiving? We hope you did!
The last 2 weeks have been very exciting for us and have given us a lot to be thankful for.
We found out that Greer is breech and had to schedule a C-section. We got lucky and were able to pick the date we have been hoping she'd arrive on all along; November 29th! That's this Tuesday! So this weekend we have been busy putting the last touches on Greer's room.

We also welcomed Greer's little Bestie, Brooke, on November 20th. We are so thankful for having such good friends, Fritz and Heidi, to experience the joys (insert a tad bit of sarcasm here) of pregnancy together!

We also hosted Thanksgiving at our house again this year. I love all the details of hosting an event and had fun using some of the ideas I have been seeing on Pinterest and Martha Stewart! Especially the Coffee Granita that was the easiest and yummiest dessert ever!

We hope you had a lot to be thankful for too! We know we will be counting our blessings this week!

Guys and Girls Baby Shower

Hi!
This past weekend my mom and my wonderful friends, Heidi and Heidi, threw Bobby and I a Baby Shower! It was a beautiful day and a really sweet time to celebrate with our closest friends! We got lots of fun and needed things for when Baby Greer arrives. We also got to see our friends sniffing "poopy" diapers and drinking from sippy cups, which was so fun! All in all, it was a very enjoyable day! Here are the pics we got from our Guys and Girls Shower! Enjoy!

Fall Festivities: Part 2

Hello again! Time for more about our Festive Fall.
This weekend was our Annual Halloween party! This year we decided to make it easy on ourselves and not have a theme to the party and costumes. So a few months ago I saw a peacock costume on Pinterest and decided that was what I wanted to be! Just a couple weeks ago Bobby decided he wanted to be Edward Scissorhands so I got to thinking about that... and I think we pulled both off pretty well. I was lucky to come across a How-To video on YouTube for Edward's makeup! He looked pretty awesome if I do say so myself! After winning Best Costume last year as Elvis, he got hooked on the feeling and set his sights on the same this year. And guess what? He won it again! Although Edward's costume was pretty awesome, there were lots of fun ideas this year...

Just for fun, here are some of our past Halloween costumes. I played around in my  favorite photo editing site, picnik and used their Halloween Features. You can do all kinds of things like add ghosts, lightning, and spider webs to your photos. You can also make your pictures look like they are from a scary movie or "ghostify" them! Enjoy!
2010: Theme:Hollywood, Holly Golightly and Elvis

2009: Theme: Make Your Own Costume, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson

2008: Theme: Heroes and Villians, Superman and Wonder Woman

2007: Theme: Dynamic Duos, Danny and Sandy from Grease

Fall Festivities: Part 1

Hello!
I'm glad to be here, finally posting something again! I'm finding my blog posts are becoming fewer, and farther between... (I know, it's probably just going to become less frequent once little miss greer arrives!) Anyway, the Fall Season proves to be very busy with all kinds of fun to prepare for. Last weekend, I got to celebrate my good friend Heidi's upcoming little girl. Heidi is due 2 weeks before I am, and we have had so much to talk about during the last 7 month. It's been fun up to this point, and I'm sure the fun will continue once our little ones get here!
In preparation for Heidi's shower, my creative bone got to twitching and I created a few projects for her, including some holiday outfits for her little one and a pillow case to brighten up her upcoming hospital stay! So without further ado, her are some pictures from Heidi's shower...

Baby Shower Brunch

 Hello!
This weekend was my Family Baby Shower. My Mom, Aunt Julie, cousins and BFF, Kelly, helped put on a wOnDeRfUl party!!! The party was decorated with all kinds of Heidi Grace stuff, which is what Greer's room is decorated with.  Also, the invitations for the party included a plain white onesie to be decorated and brought to the party for a onesie contest!  The party was such a great time to visit with the most special people in our lives and to prepare for upcoming little bundle of joy!  Ok, now I'm going to let the pictures do the talking! Enjoy!
