Root, root, root for the Gators!

Happy Presidents' Day!
This weekend was the opening series for Gator Baseball! This year we almost bought season tickets but by the time Bobby called to find out what seats were available, all the good seats were gone. So we decided we'd just pay general admission and try to be more on the ball next year.  However, one of our friend's parents have season tickets and offered them to us for Saturday's game. We were so excited and grateful for being able to use their tickets. But when we got to the game and realized the seats were in the second row on the first base line we were thrilled!!! Here are some pics from the game...

A girl in front of us was showing her spirit with her shoes!

Ryan came over and sat with us for a little while.

We ran into Albert on our way back from getting some snacks!

Super Bowl Sunday

Happy Monday!
Did you enjoy the Super Bowl last night? We had fun watching the game--and the commercials--with friends! We were invited to our friends Fritz and Heidi's house to watch the game. Fritz is from Wisconsin so we decided to cheer for the Packers to help him out!  Here are some pics I took from the evening.

Gamecocks & Gators

Hey Friends!
Last weekend we drove to Alabama. The trip was Super Exciting and Super Sad... Here's the story:
For as long as I've known Bobby, I've wished I had known him during his college years.  For no other reason other than I would have l-o-v-e-LOVED to see him pitch and sit in the stands cheering for the 2-9! Well, of course this was basically just a dream until he received an invite to the JSU Alumni Baseball Game! Although it had been a while since he'd thrown, I didn't care! :)  We had already been planning on heading to Alabama for the UF/ Bama game, so it worked out perfectly!
We stayed in Birmingham with one of Bobby's college buddies, Jase and his wife, Lindsey.  So we drove to Jacksonville Saturday morning for some Baseball!  Here are some pics from it.

Heading in to the field...

Bobby and Coach Case

Coach cleared the locker room for me to be able to come in and check out Bobby's photo.
The team was selling shirts, hats and old jerseys! I found the jersey that Bobby is wearing in this picture and bought it! YAY!

Batting Practice

He hit one outta the park!

Ready for the game!

The Alumni

Exactly what I've been waiting for :)

Bobby took a tumble trying to make a play and ended up with a swollen leg and a bag of ice on it...

After the ball game we headed back to Birmingham to change from our Gamecock Red to our Gator Orange and Blue.  This is pretty much the last happy picture we took in Tuscaloosa...
The good news is we really enjoyed hanging with Jase and Lindsey! Can't wait to see them again very soon!

Thanks for reading... Hopefully the Gators will give something to cheer about this weekend!

Feeling Gator-y!

Today I am feeling especially Gator-ific Last night Bobby went to the Touchdown Club meeting and brought home our SEASON TICKETS!  We are both sUpEr excited to have tickets this year!  Here's a pic of the beautiful tixs!
Ahhhh...
So in the excitement of Gator Football starting I found this website where you can create your own Countdown.  (I wish that I could load it onto the blog, but don't think it's possible)  Here is the link to my countdown! www.HappyCountdown.com/GatorFootball
Another reason I'm feeling so Gator-licious (wow, do I sound like a dork or what!?!) is because I'm working on birth announcements for our newest little gator! Here's a sneak peek at the announements!

Anyway, thanks for reading and GO GATORS!!!

10 Things We Love About Gator Baseball Games

Kell and I occasionally make it out to "the Mac" for a Gator baseball game and really enjoy them.  Friday night we decided to head out to support the Gators in their season opener against USF.  Florida is expected to have a very strong team this year and we look forward to attending a number of games.

We would like to share with you some of the reasons why we enjoy the Gator home games.  No Peanuts or Cracker Jacks, but...

10.  Kell likes to scout the stands for cutting edge Gator accessories, (i.e hair clips, bows, etc.)
9. It is exciting to watch some of the top amateur baseball talent in the country.
8. Explaining some of the nuances of the game to Kell, who has come along way in her understanding and appreciation of the game over the last 5 years.
7. Sound effects when foul balls go flying out of the park.
6. Overhearing some of the idiotic comments from fans who swear they know everything about the Gators and the game.
5. The Jr. Voice of the Gators.  Each game they call one lucky young Gator fan to the press box to announce the Gator hitters as they come to bat in the home half of the fifth inning.
4. Double Play.
3. Catching free T-shirts for my wife (which happened Friday night.)
2. The sounds of the game.
1. Fried Oreos. If you haven't tried them, you are missing out.

Super Bowl Sunday

Kell and I chose to stay at home and take it easy for this year's game.  We both had difficulty deciding who we would be pulling for in the game, but when push came to shove, the consensus was the Saints.

Start of the 4th Quarter. Saints are lucky to be in the game at this point but they are.  Manning and the Colts have scored at will.  Only non scoring drive so far came just before the half when they were simply trying to get it out of their endzone.  Prediction: Colts win by 11.

Regarding Kell's favorite part of the game, the Ads, I do not believe that a single ad really has made a lasting impression. Game is not over yet, but I haven't seen an ad that really stands out like in past years.  Tebow's ad makes the haters look silly, because it was very simple, but funny.

Colts just missed a field goal.  Maybe New Orleans has a shot.
