Navy Pier and Boat Tour

Greetings from the Windy City!
Yesterday we checked-in to our hotel and then took a walk down to the Navy Pier!  After walking around we took a Boat Tour.  Here are some pics from our day!

This was my favorite photo of the day!
Thanks for looking!!!

The Loop

After seeing Wrigley and eating lunch we decided to take the El down to Millennium Park to the Great Performers of Illinois event.  So on our ride down Bobby noticed a lot of commotion on the streets and said to me, "Woah, there's a HUGE accident..."  but as we continued to ride, we noticed that the "accident" was several blocks long and people were gathering and taking pictures of it!  After getting off the train, we decided not to go to Millennium Park, but to head toward the commotion. We saw signs on the street posts, that referred to it being a movie set. As it turns out, they were filming Transformers 3!  Here are a few pics we got of the action!

After Bobby realized he wasn't going to meet Optimus Prime ;)  we decided to head over to Millennium Park.  It was very busy and we only had a little time left but at least we got to see "the bean,"
Some Chainsaw-carved sculptures,
and some very detailed side-walk chalk art!!!
What a day!!!

Chi-Town Life

Hey Friends!
So far Chicago has been great!  We spent the weekend with our good friend, Matt, who showed us what it's like to live here.  The cOoLeSt part about hanging with him, in his neck-of-the-woods, is that WRIGLEY FIELD is 3 blocks from his place! We are going to see the Cubbies play on Thursday!
We also got to see some nice shops and apartment buildings.  One of the apartments we saw had a basketball court on the roof! Too cool!

Here are some more cool things we saw: the camo-ish doors of a salon, a cool red dress sculpture, and a cute owl sign of a boutique!

Next... we head downtown to the Loop!

Stowaway

Hi! Today while packing for our trip to Chi-Town (yAy!) we found a little stowaway in Bobby's luggage... and her name is Lola!  We have found that our kitties love nothing more than to crawl around in piles of clothes and sneak into open luggage.  It is a little frustrating when they do this but it is also VERY aDoRaBle!  So here are a few pics of Lola from today.
"The Windy City...?  How dare they go without me!
I'll just sneak in here...

Can't see me now. I'm hiding.

So you found me.

This needs ironing now.

Eyein my next move."

Anyway, thanks for reading about our little kitty girl.  Next time we'll post some pics of Charlie, just to be fair :)
Chicago here we come!

Crafty Catch Up!

It's Summertime and the Bloggin' is EASY! During the school year, the blog was a little neglected and although I was still a very busy crafter, I wasn't posting and adding all the fun stuff I had been working on.  So here is my attempt to catch up!

I was asked by a teacher friend to make letters for her new niece Lily.  The main nursery color was light green, but of course she wanted the letters to pink and girly.  Notice the glittery green heart mixed in with the polka dots on each letter! I love how these turned out!

Next, my good friend and hair stylist recently moved her shop to a new location and she really glammed it up! I offered my help with anything she needed and she took me up on my offer!  Here are the signs I made for her doors and I also designed a postcard that she used to notify her clients of the move/ Grand Opening of the new location.

I recently posted about my little cousin Sarah's birthday party.  Here's a pic of the invitation I created for the party and the Tutu I made for her.  This invitation might be my favorite that I've made so far.  Also, the Tutu was SO easy and TOO cute!  Maybe someday I'll post instructions on how to make it...

My cousin Miranda had her twin boys Eli and Owen on May 29th! Here is a picture of the letters my Mom and I made for the boys' room.  I'm also sharing a picture of the cutie baby shower card I made using my new Cricut Cartridge: Stretch Your Imagination! (given to me by 2 of my favorite teacher friends)  :)

Another celebration of twins! My beautiful nieces Abby and Tristin are turning 7 tomorrow! These are the cards I made for them using another Cricut Cartridge: Create a Critter.  I love this cartridge because it is full of the cutest little creatures... I see some great crafts using these critters in the future!
Well I think that's it! All of these pictures can be found in my craft slideshows too!
